and so I was just sitting here with my bf and I had a thought.  I watched as he turned away from his online poker game toward the televison and switched the channel from the football game to our ps2 where his Madden game sat waiting for him.   And after this happened I thought to myself,  ‘wow, that’s alot to being doing.’  I mean think about it…  Have our attention spans become so short that we need even more activities to entertain us?

Blank Calendars and Fake Cappuccino

6:12 a.m. “Coffee… coffee… cocofcoffcofffeeeeeeeee…!”

Now let me explain that normally I’m not a coffee drinker. In fact, I try to avoid the stuff if I can - occasionally indulging in a nice frothy cappuccino from the local gas station. On this particular morning, however, that was my first thought. So I figure, since my first client doesn’t arrive for another 18 minutes, I’ll get a good LARGE pot started. I don’t know… it was like my brain was just screaming for it. So I do a quick sweep of the floor and I listen to the coffee slowly drip into the pot. Could it be any slower?! I mean really! Needless to say, the pot finally finishes and I pour myself a good heaping cup of energy-inducing goodness. I go to look in the fridge for the creamer… WAIT! there is no fridge here at work. I look in the food drawer and what do I find? … <insert name of generic powered creamer here>!

I felt the tears welling up. Powdered creamer? No way… it’s the real stuff or nothing. Read the rest of this entry »

Feeds Feeds Everywhere

So, here I am sitting at work. The “powers that be” took pity on my poor soul and allowed me to have a good 10 minutes of quiet time. So I took advantage of the opportunity, convinced myself to take a mini break and catch up on my RSS Feeds. I try to get through them everyday, I really do. It never seems to happen though. Maybe because I have 56 subscriptions.

(I use Google Reader. Not because I’m obsessed with Google but because it works and it has just enough “pretty” to satisfy my need for a nice UI… but I digress…) Read the rest of this entry »
